The shape of things to come
This time between the release of FIFA09 and the release of PES2009 feels pretty damn peculiar to me. For the many PES fans who are still PES through-and-through—”we don’t need no stinkin’ FEEFA”—it’s just the annual agony of impatience for the new PES game. I remember how that feels and I still feel it myself, in my own way.
The high quality of FIFA09 asks me a question that I don’t particularly want to answer. I want to avoid this question. I want to run away from it and hide from it and not have to face up to it, ever.
For a year now, it’s been strange to be a PES fan who’s attracted to the new-style FIFA. I feel curiously adrift, and somehow guilty, as if I’ve been bewitched somehow and I should know how to undo the spell and get back to liking the real football game, PES. But I’ve been so thoroughly bewitched, it seems, that I don’t know I’m bewitched, and I think my new regard for FIFA is natural and proper, and it’s PES that’s in the wrong, and all the rabid ‘one nation’ PES fans who are in the wrong and simply BLIND to the obvious truth, not me, not me, not me….
Deep breath. Short version. Could this be the year that I finally give myself totally to the other game—to FIFA? After all these years, has it finally come to this? Is it le crunch?
The coming few weeks will see things go one of several possible ways:
- Status Quo—I continue as a PES player, with frequent side-visits to FIFA. Chance of this happening: very unlikely. PES2009 may be good, but I doubt it will be great. Even if it is, FIFA09 is great too. I doubt it’ll play second fiddle this year.
- Half-and-half—I focus on PES2009 and FIFA09 in roughly equal measures. Chance of it happening: If PES2009 is in any way a good game, this is the most likely outcome.
- Total reversal from last year—I play FIFA09 most of the time, and only make occasional sorties into PES2009-land. It still amazes me that this kind of scenario is even thinkable. Let alone possible, which it is. If it does happen, the blog name would have to change. I’ve already tested how it might look (see fig.1 below).
- Total conversion to FIFA—For this to happen, PES2009 would have to completely disgust me for some reason. Chances: very unlikely but scarily possible. See below.
I had a traumatic experience in midweek. After several days’ intense play of FIFA09, I played a few games of PES2008 on my PSP. And I shouldn’t have. The sheer speed of the game, for one thing. No. Never again can I ever play a football game as fast as old-style PES. Maybe occasionally, for ‘fun’, but never day-in, day-out.
But when playing PES2008 I felt pretty dismayed about the gameplay. It struck me as being crude. This for me was most shocking, as I’ve always been vocal about admiring PES’s core gameplay. This… was an interesting couple of games, put it that way.
I had to have a few goes on the PES2009 demo, just to calm my jangled nerves. I felt slightly reassured. PES2009 boasts classic PES gameplay, but slowed down and tarted up for the PS3. (A year late, but let’s not start that again now.) And who knows how the next months will play out. I read today that the CPU teams in FIFA09 seem to be unable to score from outside the box. If true, then that’s a big demerit for FIFA. I’ve already had the PES2009 CPU score a 25-yarder against me in the demo. And PES2009 will have Master League… So who knows which way the wind will blow.
————————–
FINALLY, tomorrow (Sunday) will be a day of rest for the blog. No post. I’m not going to take every Sunday off, just most of them. Last season I posted every day, seven days a week, without fail. Well, this year that has got to change. For various reasons the Sunday post was always the one I struggled most to get done in time. It’ll be good to have that pressure taken off me, and have some breathing space.
On Monday I’ll take one more look at my FIFA09 progress. Then from Tuesday I’ll switch focus to PES2009 in the build-up to release day. How long that focus stays on PES2009 all depends.

I haven’t tried a lens cleaner actually. How much is it? Maybe there is hope for the XBOX, and Euro 2008 after all.
Portillo from Osasuna scored against me from outside the box, and that was on professional difficulty. I think their lack of long range goals just reflects our lack as well- it is much harder to score them! Which is the way it should be, I think.
Yes if it wasn’t for the ML and it’s lasting- one career forever appeal, I wouldn’t even consider PES now. I still have a bad feeling that it won’t stand up to intense play. Sadly I think it will be another 2008, and become ridiculously easy after a while. They need to bring back the 6 star difficulty AND give a game speed option- one that could dramatically slow the game down for those who want too.
The jury is still out on FIFA 09s lasting appeal too. I play it constantly and so far, I would be more hopeful for it. Although I have the odd easy game (just beat Barca away 5-2), professional still offers some degree of challenge. World Class beat me down, and hopefully I never conquer legendary. Not forgetting full manual controls, which could come into play if the game gets too easy. Luckily for me I have never played an MM before- so despite its publicised problems (and the fact it hasn’t changed much), I love it! I’m not easily bored either- I can see me playing through a number of full careers throughout the year. The made up players that begin to populate the MM world won’t bother me either- I am used to using imagination in the PES world too.
Don’t feel guilty for enjoying a good game though! You spent the money on it and it IS Konami’s fault if they can’t be bothered to update the game for the new consoles. They are just releasing graphically update PS2 PES games, it’s unnacceptable. In fact the PS2 games are still better!
As for your blog scenario- I see this – “Total reversal from last year—I play FIFA09 most of the time, and only make occasional sorties into PES2009-land.” as the most likely out come. FIFA has a depth to it now that has surpassed PES. There are a number of issues with it though- the through ball glitch being the major one. Luckily, for the way I play- it’s not a gamebreaker. But for serious ‘winning means everything’ online players- it will be.
Not Given – my lens cleaner cost me about a fiver from HMV a few years ago. They’re just discs with little brushes on them, so they should be as cheap or cheaper now. Even if it doesn’t fix your 360 it’s worth trying, and it’s worth having a lens cleaner anyway.
FIFA09 is still lasting for me. I think this game’s got enough depth to keep me going for a whole year. If/when MM exhausts me, there’s BAP. There’s the smooth online. There’s the challenge of full manual controls.
I think I’ll end up playing FIFA09 the most too. PES2009 does have a pleasant slow steadiness to it, though, compared to last year’s 100mph speed. And do not underestimate the power of Master League… PES2009 might just as well be called Master League 2009 for me. I doubt I’ll ever even register to play the game online.
I think I am really pushing the limits of professional now. My last two results are-
Barcelona 2-5 Valencia and Valencia 6-1 Recreativo. Worryingly, it was a frustrating game, I could have had 20. In the last two games David Villa has scored 9 of those goals. Also beaten Deportivo away 1-6 this season. A step up to WC could be imminent.
Thanks I will buy it, see if I can save the 360 and my Euro career. I won’t give up on PES yet, if it is good enough I will almost certainly buy it by swapping in some old games. I honestly want it to be good- but I want to see a dramatic overhaul to the game engine and I know that’s not what we are getting with 09. (it’s always next year)
I am going for that you will be happy with this version of PES. Reading your blog for almost a year now and private chats I believe your heart is still with “Master League”. You have stated that is the best game mode you have ever played. The reason you started the blog.
You have asked for the speed to be reduced and it has. I can see you being happy and continuing your epic ML career.
For me I have pre-ordered PES as I want to give the game a chance myself. I will make my decision after a good few games. Like most new PES titles it takes a while getting into it, there is always a settling in period. I have no qualms about what game I will play. I will choose on what gives me the most entertainment.
I must add that right now I am looking forward to the Champions League Mode with a fully licensed Celtic complete with Champions League Music. Playing on TopPlayer will keep me occupied for a while.
I will probably play the 3 football titles, FIFA 09, EURO 2008 and PES 2009 as the 3 games are different.
It will be interesting to see how your decision pans out in the future.
^ that post just made me miss Master League badly haha.
I agree with you, hopefully all 3 of those games will merit intense play. I will certainly go back to Euro if I fix the XBOX because, in all honesty, its the best football game I have ever player- in terms of the core gameplay. FIFA 09 beats it simply for the MM and leagues.
Hi there, long time reader, first time poster.
Judging by the demo, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the full PES2009. It’s quite clear to me that it’s slower, and more methodical gameplay will work for the FIFA09 tempted (that includes me.) And I dare say, they’ve set out to wipe the slate clean from last years debacle.
I wouldn’t feel bad if you did defect to FIFA09 if I were you, it’s your blog, it’s your choice, but I certainly think you should give PES2009 the full treatment. I reckon that when you pick up your first ML game, with the useless Ximilex, Burchet and co, on the hardest difficulty with the new slowed down gameplay, you’ll realise just how much you’ve missed PES.
For me personally, I’ve played both demos, and I think PES is on it’s way back to it’s old best.
P.S, if you were shocked at how fast PES08 was, go back and play the cherished PES5, then you’ll have a heart attack.
Not Given – if the lens cleaner doesn’t help your 360, at least you’ll have a useful lens cleaner that will prove useful in other ways… (Translation: don’t bill me.) Yesterday morning I had the unreadable disc message, stuck my cleaner in for a whizz-round, and haven’t had trouble since over about 2 hours play-time. I think GAME’s own-brand cleaner would be the cheapest make.
Sunday evening I should be on the PS3 around 11pm and up for a game – if it works.
heraldo - I don’t know whether to hope your prediction turns out right or wrong. Yes, Master League is the single best game mode I’ve ever played in a game (football or other), but it always rested on what, for me, was the unmatched gameplay of PES. That has taken a beating over the past year.
andy - thanks for your comment – I’m a regular reader of many websites myself that I never post on. I’ve played the 2009 demo a lot more over the past few days since my traumatic encounter with the PSP PES2008 in midweek. I do like the pace and the shooting system (particularly how you can now ‘scuff’ shots and miss badly when trying to go for the first-time piledrivers from around the edge of the box that’ve been a feature of PES for too many years).
It does seem to me that Konami may – just may – get out of jail with PES2009. For all the people who have jumped ship and gone completely to FIFA or away from football games altogether, there are ones like me who WANT PES to feel (and be) great again. As the picture up top still says, I want to believe. If this blog does become FIFA Chronicles, it’ll be with reluctance.
And around the turn of the year I tried to go back and play PES5, and was indeed shocked at how fast it was. The cluster of posts in the first week of January record my search for an alternative football game to play.
In this post from January 7th, I have to smile now at this quote from myself – “I could talk from now until October about how and why PES2008 just wasn’t and isn’t and never will be up to scratch.”
Bloody hell, I actually went ahead and did that….
PES2009 won’t win you over…
I even think that if you start playing with all FIFA settings set to “manual” you’ll dump PES for good…
I read other sites too but rarely post. They are full of the same old arguments. I don’t mind a good debate on which game is better when they are both out and the person has played both, but most already decide what they think. It’s just, ‘go play pes’ or ‘go play fifa’- as if you CANNOT just play both. I can’t imagine what it must be like tobe unnable to comprehend that both games may have their merits- and for a game that can last all year- they are both value for money. (heres hoping PES is!)
The curiosity has got to me, I am downloading the PES demo as I type this. Will give it a good session soon and see how it feels. Part of me really wants to buy it now- the thought of one career that I am still doing this time next year, is brilliant!
TareX- I can’t speak for greg. But I have tried all manual settings, the passing in particular is so hard! I fail to muster a decent attack all game with full manual controls. I just find it hard to translate the analogue stick into a precise direction on the TV screen. Manual shooting I would probably get used to in time- but the passing I don’t think I will ever handle.
Not Greg – well, at least it’s been entertaining! This blog gives me a nice bit of light reading at work on my break whilst drinking my tea. Hope you keep it up mate.
I think my biggest shock when playing the FIFA09 demo, was just how much control I had on the game. the fact that a football game wasn’t determined by scripting just blew me away. I think that will be what determines my fav this year more than anything. It’s my biggest pet hate of all PES games, to feel like it’s simply down to what the coding in the game decides should happen on 90% of the matches I play. If PES can grow out of it, I think I’ll be much happier with PES09.
From what I’ve played on the PES09 demo, it seems it has been toned down, but there’s now way of telling until you’re in the thick of a ML career with 4 matches to play and you’re 3 points from the top. We shall see.
Off to watch England v Borat now. I kinda hope we lose just to shut up the smug and fickle England fans who think we’re the best team in the world again because we beat Croatia.
TareX - If I had to put money on it right now, I’d actually bet against PES2009 winning me back into the fold as well.
‘Next-gen’ PES2008 did serious damage to the franchise in my eyes. It was like some kind of toxic oil-spill in the PES world—just one great big unimaginable disaster of a game. By pushing me away to explore other games, my ties to PES have just grown looser.
But I do want to give 2009 a fair chance. After several unforgettable, great years of gaming I weirdly think I owe PES that much.
Not Given – I bet you’re astonished when you first see the PES2009 graphics (assuming you’re on a HDTV).
I was thinking wistfully about Master League just now, imagining the process of setting up my team, changing its name and kit, allotting it to a division…. Great memories of years gone past. It’ll all be about the gameplay, in the long run. One whiff of wonder dribbling and/or regular 5-4 scorelines in PES2009, and I’ll jump into bed with FIFA.
I’m the other way around with manual controls – I find the passing okay (just wait for your players to get into position) and the shooting impossible. I was missing open goals from three yards with manual shooting in the default side-on view.
andy - thanks and I’ll definitely be keeping the blog going whatever happens. I’ve got to drop down to posting 6-days-per-week this year due to work and other commitments, but that’s all.
The accursed scripting in PES had better not be as obvious and ludicrous as I thought it was when I played a few games on the PSP the other night. There was a spell where the CPU was determined to have the ball and exert pressure (you know what I mean) and the whole passage of play just struck me as being like a Special Attack animation in a beat-em-up or a Final Fantasy game.
As for the league table scripting in Master League… it happens in FIFA’s MM as well, but not to the same ludicrous degree. Start a season badly on a high difficulty setting and you’re almost certainly out of the title race. On PES, even on the hardest settings, you’re usually always in the title race no matter what happens.
Anyway, just a few days to wait now.
I haven’t played that much of the demo yet (whats with having to sit through the trailer every game??). Also watching the boring England match- don’t know why I bother.
From the little I have played I am worried. The good part- the graphics. Your right they are better than I expected, but I must say I still prefer FIFAs overall look. I don’t want to be too negative here but I didn’t enjoy the game at all. After playing Euro 08 and FIFA 09 it is a massive step back. Almost feels like I am playing a PS or N64 game again. Playing on top player I found wonder dribbling to be ever-present. I purposefully chose the most overrated team (Barcelona) to see if the best players still had the PES 08 advantage. They do. I ran past 4 defenders to score with Eto’o, simply by sprinting and slowing up to walk round the opposition. The same old PES tactics work to go round defenders- it’s easy. The games didn’t come down to playing football, but simply using the same moves to round the defenders easily. The game engine is so outdated now. Messi was the same, as was Henry and each game came down to the usual constant pressing of the pressure buttons, and walking past the defence.
Another thing. A foul in FIFA is a foul. Whenever I make one in my MM it is in general a fair decision. I can’t remember being enraged yet by the referee. In PES though, it’s the same annoying referee present from 5! It doesn’t matter if you get the ball, if you graze their ankle on the way through- free kick. These niggly fouls have always been an issue in PES and nobody has bothered to sort them out in 3 or 4 years. In one game, I purposefully hacked a player down in the box to see what penalties are like. Same old, same old. No moving about the keeper on the line, it’s the usual complete lottery. I haven’t taken a penalty yet, but it’s a safe bet it’s the usual way for them too.
You (and everyone it seems) has mentioned the stupid running animation and your right. It’s terrible looking. The sound of the ball is comical, but doesn’t bother me an awful lot. The rest of the presentation is typical PES as well. Crap. Who comes up with these menus??? These are minor problems though- I can get over these if the gameplay is good. I don’t think it is. To be really harsh, I preferred the gameplay of 08- it at least was less stilted.
Okay I did like the slower pace of the game. The point you made about the passing is exactly right- it’s simplistic, and no where near FIFA quality. The control you have over the match in FIFA is miles above this. In PES, I felt like I was watching the game. It was uninteresting and there was no ebb and flow to the game. In FIFA, sometimes I need to defend, and then at times I pick the pace up and go for it. Each match is ‘fun’, win, lose or draw. That’s the thing, everyone goes on about how realistic and frustrating FIFA is compared to the ‘fun’ attacking arcadiness of PES. I didn’t find any of it fun. It was, to be completely honest, boring- after a playing a next gen football game in FIFA. Another glaring fault is goalkeepers! They are STILL spilling easy shots, for me to tap in the rebound. I honestly think if you wanted to keep an ML going all year round, you will need more ‘House Rules’ because the teams you can assemble in Master Leagues are far in excess of Barcelonas team. I can see it falling into PES 08 and every game being 6-2. Yet another fault- the atmosphere. Was it just me or was it the same chant throughout the entire game? It was very grating, and I didn’t feel like I was playing Barca vs Real, the crowd was dead. Now to be fair, when I am knee deep in an ML career maybe the atmosphere will be different when the matches mean something. So i’ll not be too harsh on this yet. But it would be interesting to know if you experienced the same thing as me- the repetive chants throughout the match.
Apologies for this long and mostly negative post- I am just extremely disappointed. I expected what everyone said it was “the game 08 should have been”- but I honestly enjoyed the gameplay of 08 more. All this isn’t a final review of course, I won’t damn a game completely based on a 10 minute demo. I will get this game, either by swapping some games, or renting- and then assess it properly. But for now, very disappointed…
Not Given – wow, a hornet’s nest there. I more than half-expected you to like it.
Your discovery of a wonder dribble is worrying. I never found it in my (approximately) 15 games. (Having to sit through the promo video, or remember to quit on 89 minutes, got to me too.) The only crumb of comfort I cling to (and by now I am clinging) is that I was never a PES dribbler until 2008′s absurd gameplay allowed me to be one. The stop-start sprint-dribble you describe is foreign to me – never learned it, never wanted to learn it. I hope it’ll stay that way. And this one tiny thing is the only thing I really disagree with your post about….
Otherwise, I have to say that your other points – especailly the goalkeepers (ouch! I’d managed to forget about them) – hold water. After my midweek PES2008 (PSP) session, I was only reassured by playing the 2009 demo inasmuch as the pace is slower and the shooting less arcadey.
I’m committed now to getting the full 2009 game and trying it out, but I have to say that in my heart I’m ready to bid farewell to PES as my daily game for the year. But I just can’t let go until I’ve seen and played it for myself, the full game, in all its glory or not. I’ve got to know, so that I don’t spend the rest of the year wondering what might have been, or if I gave 2009 enough of a chance. This is a peculiar state for a grown man to get into over a game, admittedly, but as we all know ISS and PES at their best were more than just games.
Yes that degraded into a bit of a rant there! Believe me, I am like you, in fact I never had the ability to dribble that well in past PES games. I tried on the demo to break the game- I wanted to see if it’s open to abuse by dribbling as the previous games. So I did spend most of the games looking for ways to test the game out, which meant a lot of attempted wonder dribbling. Obviously when I get the full game and play it my own way, chances are I will get more enjoyment out of it. But in the case of this demo (after the farce that was 08) I think I am justified in trying to see if the new one is as open to abuse as the last one..
As I said at the end, I too will get it one way or another and give it a lengthy chance. I want to love both games- I really do. That demo felt like I was going back in time to play it- didn’t feel on FIFAs level at all. How can so much change in two short years??
After this weekend I think I will be in a fair enough position to judge FIFA ( 40-50 hours play), so I will write a full review- and if you don’t mind, post it here.. then I will give PES 2009 the same amount of time- even if I must force myself.
Not Given – you’re welcome to post your FIFA09 review here if you want to. You’ve played far more on it than I have. With work and other things to distract me I must have only played around 20 hours all told, and that includes my online sessions.
I’ve just watched the England game highlights. Poor game, as it usually is at New Wembley. Has that place had a good match yet? And I was shocked at what Rooney looks like… for a few moments I thought John Hartson had come out of retirement.
Not Greg – Yeah the England was a bit confusing all told. The scorline suggests all is weel with England but the first half was absolutely shocking stuff. A couple of simple deal balls got us back and then Borat Utd just fell apart after that. I’m still nowhere conviced that England are any better under Capello.
Back to PES, one thing I hope they’ve sorted is the basic stuff like throw ins, free kicks and penaltys. In fact, only corners are worthy of a decent football game is PES, and the rest are just a lottery as far as I can see. The demo doesn’t seem to suggest much in the way of improvement unfortunately. How can the developers not have sorted this out for so many years? It’s just lazy. I love the way you can move the keeper on the line in FIFA on penaltys. Adds a nice dynamic to the usual ‘old up and left and hope for the best.’
Slightly worried here. Started winning every game by 5 or 6 goals- and David Villa was scoring a hat trick every match. So I moved up to World Class, and beat Standard in the CL 5-0 with Villa getting every goal AND two of them when injured. He’s now on 37 goals from 13 matches. I will be staying on WC permanently now- however things go from here.
andy,
I agree it is just lazy! That’s why my opinion of the demo was so angry, they conned us last year with a broken game- and now give us the same game we have had for 4 years. It’s really disgusting. What annoys me most is Seabass coming out and saying PES 08 was broken, but 09 will be different. Funnily nothing was said before 08s release, when we were led to believe the hype. That’s why I feel no guilt over loving FIFA and no loyalty to a development team churning out crap.
andy – PES penalties are about as deep and challenging as a Flash game from the world wide web circa 2004. A penalty in a game of football can be a dramatic, subtle, skilful, pivotal event; penalty shootouts even more so. I used to get that famous ‘special feeling’ from ISS penalties and penalty shootouts, but strangely, PES ones leave me almost stone-cold. Possibly because all we had in ISS were tournament games?
Not Given – you’ll always have Legendary if WC proves too lightweight. I think the game will stop you in your tracks on WC though.
I’ve noticed Forlan in my MM team (360) banging in an unusual amount of goals over the past few sessions, but I get ahead of my story there (and I’m still on Professional level). If you’d played FIFA08 you’d know that strikers in a MM team could feel pretty anonymous at times, so this apparent higher profile for them in 09 is welcome.
Last night I played a few more games of the PES2009 demo, on the default difficulty setting (Regular?), and was less impressed than before.
The damn goalkeepers! I scored a few goals that were scary clones of PES2008 goals – collect rebound, slot ball in; or collect rebound, dribble sideways/backwards, lay off to another striker, slot ball in. Sigh.
But then this morning I had a session on FIFA09 that left me with misgivings too (thought it was a bit too fast for the first time).
It’s all on the full game for me and PES2009.
There are going to be a lot of rebound goals in PES 09, that’s for sure.
Tested myself on Legendary against Manchester United on FIFA. I lost 3-1 but it doesn’t tell the whole story. It was 1-1 until the dying moments of the match and I caved in for 2 goals- because I was going all attack for the win. I thought I was going to win my first game on legendary!
Also had games online which were scarily easy. Beat two people (both using Manchester United of course…) 0-4 and 5-2. In that last game he only had two chances which were dispatched by Ronaldo.. It’s a bit tedious that everyone plays United, even on non ranked matches. It get’s very boring as they are getting quite easy to beat now. They just rush at you with everyone, so I change to 4-5-1 and wipe them out. You gain very little ranking points for using a top team, so I don’t know what the incentive is to use them. I’m looking for a lower team to use in ranked games to accumulate more points.
Worryingly FIFA is rewarding ultra attacking play. Near the end of my MM professional games, I was just in all out attack- with David Villa netting 3-5 times per game!
By the way heraldo- you were right. I have continued on the professional form and winning easily on World Class. Just won another match 4-0- could have been 15-0 to be honest. David Villa had a bad day.
I am well into season 2 now and my players are all world class. Villa is almost unstopable, he can (dare i say it) wonder dribble around defenses. Also, something I find rather strange- the aging Baraja and Albelda are getting better- and feel like they are back in their prime again! It would be a sin if I won the league at a canter on WC- but it just might happen.
heraldo - Oh dear. Drunk posting. Time was that I did nothing but drunk posting. Not any more though. And something tells me you’d had a few when you posted that last comment of yours on here… HELLO.
Not Given – They’ve changed the difficulty of the 09 difficulty levels, though, so you’d only have to move to the hardest difficulty level, Legendary. If you won everything easily there then I agree it’d be a travesty.
And – wonder dribbling? Are you serious? Could you upload an example or two? I’d be intrigued.
If you want a game now, i’m playing for a while yet?
I will, hopefully Villa keeps this form up now that you want to see it! I hope our definitions of wonder dribbling are the same. But I have managed to walk round 3/4 defenders with Villa and score. His stats are just insane- and his overall is 95. I am really tempted to sell him in the next window, but I don’t want to lose him as a player..
Yes Heraldo kind of lost me on that post too hahaha.
Not Given – Right now I have assorted business to attend to, and it’s not optional I’m afraid. It’s looking like 12 to 12.30 before I’m free now. If you’re still up I could give you a game then, if not then definitely tomorrow afternoon (day off work).
I shouldn’t be up at that time, busy tomorrow…. but I probably will be.
I’m not sure this is the smartest move- but I am tempted to fire the game up to legendary and leave it there. Even if the game gives me a kicking the rest of the season, at least winning something will be earning it. Right now theres no fun, as it’s just attack vs defence. My last 4 results are uncomfortable reading, 1-5, 0-6, 5-0, 4-0. With David Villa on 38 goals in 15 games- it’s just stupid.
Good idea? or not..
How are you getting on with your ML(s)? I wasn’t beating the cpu like this at the start of mine remember- its the player growth thats allowing me to crush the opposition now- not ‘skill’.
Adam from WENB is such an annoying fanboyish wanker. Seabass could serve up a broken unplayable abortion of a game and he would give it full marks…wait an minute he has already done that last year….the tosser.
You guys will have to check out the latest podcast from the WENB “boyz”. The grusome twosome sound very depressed…well they did play the full PES2009 game so no wonder! Even better Adam reports that his wife asked him why he was playing PES when FIFA looked so much better! LMAO
