bostongoals & Lakriss - At this stage of a PES year we end up accepting of the game's faults, and I'm not too bothered about the non-collision-detection groin-goal. Like you say boston, I bet I've scored a few like it. I mainly posted it for its novelty value. Ditto the referee thing...

Oh, Lakriss, thanks for pointing out that error. I've corrected it. With no internet access at work lately I have to write the posts in about half the time, on average, that I used to have.

ck - yes, it was the referee's 'running out of the way of play' animation, but it's the opposite some of the time. Again it's something that those of us still playing next-gen PES2008 have just accepted by now (or moved on to FIFA08, or 'back' to the so-called last-gen version.

Not Given (is your middle name Shay, by any chance? In that case I'm Not Downs..) - I refuse to reward Seabass any more by buying the PS2 version, although I really hear good things about it and am looking forward to playing the PSP version, which is the PS2 version shrunk to fit. I know people say it's just PES6 with a few new animations and menus, but that was said of PES4>PES5>PES6, and I found all of those games different enough and enjoyable enough and SOLID enough for me to consider them proper PES games and throughly enjoy them all for a year apiece.

Personally I still can't believe they went ahead and published next-gen PES2008 when they did. After two 130MB patches the offline game is as good as it's ever going to be, and online play will probably never be fixed.

I agree with every gripe you have with pes08 and it IS far too easy. It may be a step backwards but go back to 08 for the ps2. It's a completely different game and still challenging many seasons into my ML. I will continue to play it on the ps2 until they release a completed pes game for 360 or ps3..

What? I'm flabbergasted. Both at your keeper's otherwise non-corporeal penis making an own goal, but the charging ref? That is truly, truly shocking.

It kind of looks like the game was trying to move the ref out of your way, but only succeeded in moving him into it! If their scripts are that jacked up, they should have set the refs to insubstantial and just had done.

Of course, there's no excuse for the ghost goalkeeper, and the happy bouncing ball.

Actually I have too agree with bostongoals on both aspects, as i have had a few soft goals gone in because of the lack of collision detection.

Also the ref thing is beyond ridiculous, shouldn't happen and it won't take much to fix it either. I swear down that should of come up in testing, happens almost every game with me.

From the earlier post, i actually meant about the lone Lazio player scoring a goal for Sampdoria. If that did happen, i think PES has some issues that really need looking at.

But why do we still play the "damn" game...
