Things have not improved in any direction. Played a game against Atalanta and got soundly thrashed 4-0, in a way that I rarely have before on PES. If I strung two passes together in the whole of the match it was by accident.
As a result WE United are firmly rooted at the bottom of Division 3 after the opening two games.
It’s still ‘all to play for’, I suppose. But it has become painfully clear that the PSP version of the game and me just do not agree.
There are a number of factors affecting the way I play. Number one is that I’m still playing with the default ML players. I’m also playing them in an attacking 4-3-3. Also,with PES2008 just two weeks away, there’s a feeling that PES6 doesn’t really matter. So I’m playing very lazily - always wanting to get the ball forward in one or two passes. In my mammoth Master Leagues on the PS2, I just don’t play that way. I build up play, keep possession, probe for openings. I’m treating the PSP version as if it’s an inferior arcade version. This is wrong of me.
I will take a metaphorical deep breath and return to the action tonight.
